Best 18 Amd Motherboards For 3070ti And A 5800x 2022

The best motherboards for the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X ( Amazon ) have up to 8-Cores 16 threads. It is a native quad core with no 512 KB L2 cache and 2MB of L3 memory bandwidth which makes it more efficient than its predecessor, but at stocks speeds this doesn't really matter because they are all still very fast!
It also has an improved design that reduces power consumption by 15%. If you're on budget then I would recommend going with something like MSI's 64bit B450 tomahawk gskill processor or Asus Prime z390 ac "+"  series motherboard as these both offer fantastic features without compromising too much quality in terms of performance.

Currently looking at ASUS rog strix x570-E but not sure if that is overkill

B550 imo , x570 is a good choice aswell if you plan in using all those extra lanes.

A good B550 will do from ASROCK, ASUS, or Gigabyte. I use one on my 5800x. I also have an X570 on my 5950x.
There are some really premium B550 boards out there, that are just shy of the IO you’d find on an X570.
Might I reccomend an X570 ROG Crosshair Hero VIII?

is the Ethernet port ok on that MB? Reviews for its white version says the driver or something that is used for that MB caused some people to have issues

Do you need all the features the board provides?
Strix B550-f is a popular alternative that will get you in the game.

honestly just wanting a board that’s not going to handicap the 5800x or 3070ti in anyway

if you are just gaming, and don’t need the features, particularly the full pcie gen 4 layout of x570, they all do the same thing.
The cheapest or most expensive board will game just the same.
B550 or x570 will get that done.
I have both b550 and x570 with 5800x and dont feel gimped in any way.
Only difference you’ll see between most boards, performance wise, is on the extreme overclocking spectrum.

No such thing as overkill if you plan on upgrading your hardware in the future.

Overkill doesn’t exist if you ever plan on going bigger later. Best to plan for the future with pc building I’ve learned very quickly.
